Collection of waivers and standard phrases

The intention of this table is to provide potential REACH registrants with a list of phrases that can be used when filling in the registration dossier. This list has been developed by companies doing actual registrations Please note that these standard statements are by no means intended to be mandatory or prescriptive. This table is meant to provide an overview of examples and it should not be used as a stand-alone document. It should be used in combination with the available guidance from ECHA and the relevant Annexes of the REACH Regulation.

Specific Environmental Release Classes (SPERCs)

Industry Sector Associations have developed Specific Environmental Release Classes, describing the typical operations in their sectors including (conservative) release factors and efficiencies of RMM/OC. These SPERCs can be used for Environmental Exposure Estimates and are included in the Ecetoc TRA. Fact sheets with justifications for these sector specific parameters are under development and will be published soon.

Strictly controlled intermediates

This guidance has been updated, better explaining rigorous containment and use of available hazard and exposure information.
Please be advised that the ECHA guidance on intermediates is in consultation process and the industry interpretation of SCC is still under debate with some member states. The new release of the ECHA guidance may lead to an update of the industry guidance.
Industry has prepared several examples
illustrating strict control of intermediates, depending on the available hazard and exposure information. These examples represent industry interpretation of SCC and are still under debate with ECHA and some member states. The examples do not include the required documentation to confirm SCC as in the industry guidance.
